The California Gambling Control Commission's Hearings on Irving Moskowitz's Casino License Application

On December 18, 2003 and January 9, 2004, the Gambling Control Commission held hearings on Moskowitz's application to operate the casino he owns in Hawaiian Gardens. Our Coalition for Justice in Hawaiian Gardens and Jerusalem and numerous other groups and individuals participated in both hearings with oral and written testimony in opposition to the license. We have also submitted several sets of documents to the Commission. We have posted summaries of testimony, copies of written testimony and submissions to the Commission and news reports on the hearings. We have organized the links on this page so you can easily locate the documents you want to see.

And click here to read a letter and inspection certificate(in PDF format) the Coalition sent to the Commission on behalf of the Silvermans refuting Moskowitz's attorney's statement to the Commission that Moskowitz terminated the Silverman's lease because the operation didn't meet health standards.

The Commission has now finished taking testimony (although it will take written submissions). The Moskowitz application was on the Commission's agenda for its February 26th meeting, but the Chairman continued the matter.
